Collecting Holiday Seasonal Greeting Postcards

In America they are called Holiday postcards and some of the best collections can be found in that country. We are talking about Christmas, Easter, Halloween, New Year, St Patricks Day, Valentines Day, Thanksgiving Day. France would add Poisson D'Avril.

I was recently introduced to a nice collection that is being put up for display on Flickr. Lots of examples, good clear images and with most of the cards publisher and series detail documented.

For todays collector, Halloween is the most sought after, and with prices to match. Santa Clause postcards are in increasing demand (especially the Hold to Light novelty examples). Valentines have always enjoyed a thriving market. Easter, Christmas and New year are readily found.

It's an interesting area in which to collect, with most of the demand being in the USA bargains can be found elsewhere.
